Pool Furniture Survey Results
Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey to choose the colors on the new pool furniture. We had 22 homeowners participate. Thirteen votes for Aqua and nine votes for lime. Aqua wins the survey.
We would also like to thank the Gardening Committee, Eric, Teresa, Hopi, Michele, Susanna and Melanie for their work to go through the furniture selection process including several long trips to visit the Pacific Patio showroom in Agoura Hills.
We have selected a fabric sling style from Telescope called Gardenella. Here is a link to the website, if you would like to get more information about it: Gardenella Sling CollectionTelescope Casual Furniture
The new furniture has been ordered from Telescope, a U.S. manufacturer based in Upstate New York and should be delivered within 8 weeks. The cost of the furniture was $8,510. The funds will come out of our Reserves. The furniture is high quality commercial grade, and it should last a long time.
The order consists of:
4 - Stacking Gardenella armless chaise lounge
1 - 48” Round glass top dining table w/umbrella hole
8 – Gardenella sling stacking café chair
1 – 36” Round glass top dining table
2 – 17” Square end table
2 – Umbrellas and 2 umbrella bases
New Plants Around the Pool
The Gardening Committee has put together a plan to replant the area around the pool to replace the plants that were destroyed during the pool construction. The Committee members have been busy selecting plants and our Gardeners have been busy planting. Some of the plants we have installed should attract hummingbirds and possibly butterflies.
To save costs, we are using our Gardeners on regular maintenance time and purchasing and transporting the plants ourselves. So far, we have purchased 70 plants at a cost of $600. Our planting plan is slower than some homeowners like, but the plan is cost effective. Some of the plants on our plan have not yet arrived at the Nursey because of the cool weather.
We will need to schedule the painters to repair the stucco damage and paint the patio wall on the raised bed in front of unit 358. Let us know if you have any common area stucco or painting needs so we can get the painters to touch them up while they are here.
Homeless Man Camping on the Property
On Wednesday, March 23 a homeowner reported a homeless man camping on the property. We called the Burbank Police, and they asked the man to leave, and he did. This is the second time this individual has used the property to spend the night. The Police told us that they would arrest the individual if he refused to leave if we would sign a trespassing complaint. We agreed to sign the trespassing complaint and fortunately it was not necessary. Hopefully, this warning will discourage this individual to camp on our property. We did clean up the garbage that he left.
Please call the Burbank Police if you see anyone using the property as a place to camp out and they will usually respond promptly and handle the situation. Please do not confront these individuals yourself or offer them any food or money as this will only encourage them. Let the Police handle them.
